About me

Originally from Uganda, I am a UK based Graphic Designer. I have always had an interest in all kinds of creative activities ranging from conventional art, digital design and photography.

My artworks are my expressions of spirituality and surrealism which are inspired by verses from the Holy Quran, hadiths and Ismaili ginanic tradition, as well as contemporary art and design. While creating my artwork I value the qualities of balance, symmetry, density, clarity, vibrancy and meaning.

I would like the form and essence of my artwork to spark a spiritual connection with the viewer. My aim is to make aspects of Islamic art accessible to a wider audience by the use of multilingual free-form calligraphy and typography.

My work is influenced by artists of the High Renaissance, the Surrealist movement, Pop Art and contemporary Muslim calligraphers such as Hassan Massoudy and Mamoun Sakkal.

Most of my work is created using illustration and painting software along with photography.
